Resource Center Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
First Steps Board members and staff open the new Resource Center
on November 9. A cooperative effort between First Steps and Northeastern
Technical College, the facility provides materials and supplies
to early childhood teachers of parents of young children. Front

Countdown to Kindergarten Above and Beyond Award
Maria Bautista, left, receives the Countdown to Kindergarten
Above and Beyond Award from Karen Odom, First Steps director on November
9. Bautista received the award for interpreting for the Countdown
to Kindergarten teacher. She made 70 home visits during the summer
without any expectation of compensation or recognition.
