Early Intervention
Visits
We conduct weekly in-home
early intervention visits to assess children (from birth
to 3 years of age) who have mild to moderate delays in development.
During those visits, we teach families
and caregivers ways to improve their children's development.
Families also receive assistance in accessing other community
services they may need.

Parenting and Life Skills Workshops
(PALSS)
Through partnerships with the Robert Smalls Family Center,
Pageland Head Start and Petersburg Primary School, we provide
skill-building seminars for parents to help them
- improve their employability
- improve
personal financial• management
- become an active partner in their children's
academic experience

Imagination
Library

We place books into the homes of children who would otherwise
not have access to them.
Through Dolly Parton's
Imagination Library, we provide Medicaid-eligible newborn
children with an age-appropriate book every month until their
5th birthdays. Chesterfield County First Steps and local
community partners finance the cost the of books and
mailing and handle program management.
